If you enter the world without first cultivating love for God, you will be entangled more and more. You will be overwhelmed with its danger, its grief, its sorrows.

As a boy holding to a post or pillar whirls about with headlong speed without fear of falling; so perform your worldly duties, fixing your hold firmly upon God, and you shall be free from danger.

There are pearls in the deep sea, but one must hazard allto find them. If diving once do not bring you pearls, you need not therefore conclude that the sea is without them. .....So is it with the finding of the Lord in this world. If your first attempt proves fruitless, do not lose heart. Persevere in you efforts. You are sure to realise Him at last.

Kindness to all creatures ! Who art thou to show mercy? No, no, it can not be mercy. Rather serve all beings as God Himself.

Fire itself has no definite shape but in glowing embers it assumes certaing forms. The formless fire is then endowed with forms. Similarly the formless God sometimes invests Himself with definite forms.

He is born to no purpose who, having the rare privilege of being born a man, is unable to realise God in this life.
