It is this total devotion to music that has become the bedrock of Soli's existence. He believes that good music is what comes from within to touch the audience. That is the foutainhead from which springs forth the rich, unbridled talent of this young artist.

The Man.....
A Science graduate of distinction in Synthetic Textile Chemistry, Soli trained vigorously in classical vocal music under the tutelage of veteran musicians like Pt. Phiroze Dastoor & Pt. Ajay Pohankar of the Kirana gharana. The world of music beckoned, and Soli left his home-town Surat to adopt music as his profession in the megapolis of Bombay.
Soli's Parsee heritage has given him a humble grace that seems to emanate from somewhere deep within him. It is his inflexible willpower & his ferocious appetite for hard work that has made him what he is today - an achiever.
The Singer.....
This soft, dulcet-voiced singer performs with a mellow maturity that belies his youth. Soli's astounding repertoire ranges from intricate classics to the more popular light compositions. An able exponent of Urdu & Gujarati ghazals, he is equally at ease with ethnic music, devotional songs & lilting jingles.
In his relentless quest for excellence, Soli has won rave reviews with audiences in most major cities of India. He has been invited for solo concerts in the Middle East, U.K., Russia and USA.
The Composer.....
Creativity is his middle name. Few composers show the willingness to rise above stereotyped confines and display the innovative spirit which links traditional and contemporary art. Soli is endowed with a rare creative genius that recognises the pathos of the lyrics and translate it into a perfect musical expression, his forte being off-beat melodies and tunes based on classical 'ragas'. He lays great emphasis on proper application of voice patterns and correct pronounciation with equal scope for innovation - a must for any good composer.
His Achievements.....
"Best Singer of the City" - 1985
"The Golden Voice of Gujarat" - 1986
Best Playback Singer - Nominated for film : 'MOKSHA' - 1998

Soli wears lightly his achievements as a singer, composer and a musicologist. An approved All India Radio vocal artist and composer in Hindi and Gujarati light music, Soli's contribution to the propagation of music has not been restricted to singing and composing - he has been a music critic and a columnist in many leading dailies.

Soli has lent his mellifluous voice to many cassettes, TV serials, commercials, dance ballets and several public as well as private concerts. In addition to his association with many reputed music companies of India like HMV, Venus, Tips, etc., Soli has several ambitious and innovative future projects on the anvil. His first foray into the world of playback singing for 'Moksha' has catapulted into an enviable & veritable flood of offers for many more films.

For the first time in its glorious 95 year-old history of unparalled service to the world of music, HMV introduces a solo artist based bhajan album in Gujarati - Ek Kaagal Harivarne.

On the basis of the international market survey which revealed a definite majority inclination towards devotional songs and a dearth of good meaningful lyrics, HMV has hit upon a gold mine in Gujarati music and literature - the awesome twosome - veteran lyricist Bhagwatikumar Sharma and super singer - composer Soli Kapadia.

Recorded digitally in a highly reputed studio of Bombay, the album is available in cassettes as well as CDs. Ek Kaagal Harivarne is launched formally by respected and revered Shri Morari Bapu whose endorsement of this quality will surely make it a chart-topper in record time.
