RAMAKRISHNA - VIVEKANANDA BHAV PRACHAR PARISHAD GUJARAT
A meeting of non-affiliated centres of Gujarat was held at Rajkot on 21st Nov.1993 in which it was resolved that 'Ramakrishna Vivekananda Bhav Prachar parishad. Gujarat' should be formed with Baroda, Ahmedabad, Bhuj and Valsad as promoter centres.Dr. Kamalkant, president of Baroda centre and Mr. O.P.N.C all a president of Ahmedabad Centre were nominated as Convener and Joint Convener respectively.

The first meeting of the parishad was held at Rajkot on the 13th Feb. 1994. Shrimat swami Atmasthanandaji Maharaj, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, addressed the representative of promoter centres as well as observer centres.

YOUTH PROGRAMMES
The Ashrama paid special attention to the youth. Numerous Youth Conventions were organised all over Gujarat. The monks of the Ashrama travelled all over Gujarat to address the students and also held Question Answer Sessions. Books on Swami Vivekananda were also distributed/sold during these programmes. About 100 educational institutions of Gujarat were covered during the years under report.

A youth Convention was organised at Rajkot on the 13th of Oct.1989 in which about 300 youths participated. Shrimat Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj inspired the youth with his speech and answered their questions.

On 12th Jan. 1990, a Youth Convention was organised at Rajkot as a part of the National Youth Day Celebration. Swami Smarananandaji Maharaj addressed the youths and held at question-answers session. About 360 youths participated.

A Youth Retreat was organized at Rajkot on 24th Nov. 1990. About 500 youths participated, Swami Harshanandaji (Presently the: President of Ramakrishna Math, Bangalore) was the main speaker.

On 12th Jan.1991, a Youth Convention was organised at Rajkot as a part of the National Youth Day Celebration in which about 500 youths participated. Shri Sitanshu Mehta, the then Vice Chancellor of Saurashtra University and Dr. Kumarpal Desai   eminent scholar from Gujarat University and others addressed the Youths.

A Youth Meet was organised at Rajkot on 25th April, 1991. About 400 youths attended. Shrimat Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj was the main speaker.

A Youth camp for three days was held at Rajkot from 9th to 11th May, 1991, in which 400 youths participated. Shri Kantibhai' Kalani, eminent writer in Gujarati from Bombay, Dr. Bholabhai Patel, eminent scholar from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and Swami Satyarupanandaji (Presently the Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Ashrama, Raipur) addressed the Youth and 6onducted question-answer sessions.

A Youth Meet was organised at Rajkot on 22nd Nov.92 in which 1500 youths participated. Shrimat Swami Atmasthanandaji r Maharaj, Shrimat Swami Lokeswaranandaji Maharaj (Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Institute of Culture, Calcutta),Swami Sridharanandaji Maharaj (Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Lucknow). Swami Nikhilatmanandali ( President of Ramakrishna Math, Allahabad), Swami Someshwaranandaji (Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Khetri) and many other monks addressed the youths.

On 12th Jan.1993, a youth meet was organised at Rajkot in Which 500 youths participated. Shri S. Jagadishan the then Collector at Rajkot and other eminent scholars and monks addressed the youths. On 11th Sept. 1993 about 3000 boys and girls of Rajkot led by Mayor Vice-Chancellor. and others participated in a 6 k.m. long procession ending in the Ashrama.

On 12th Jan.1994, a youth meet was organised at Rajkot in which 700 youths participated. Shri Jayesh Desai, Vice Chancellor, Saurashtra University inaugurated the convention. Earlier, our Ashrama conducted youth camps on 2nd,9th and 10th Jan.94.

A Youth Meet was organised at Rajkot on lath Feb.1994, in which about 900 youths participated. Shrift Swami Atmasthanandaji Maharaj, Swami Vagishanandaji Maharaj Swami Satyarapanandaji, Swami Muktinathanandaji, Swami Srikaranandaji and others addressed the youths.

On 29th Jan 1995 a youth retreat was conducted by the Ashrama in which about 600 students participated.

Apart from the above, many youth Retreats, Youth conventions Youth Study Circles etc. were organised by the non-affiliated centers of Gujarat in Baroda, Ahmedabad, valsad, Bhuj, junagadh, Bhavnagar and other parts of h in which monks of this Ashrama spoke.

CELEBRATIONS
Birth anniversaries of Shri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Shri Sardadevi, Swami Vivekananda, Shri Rama, Shri Krishna, Mahavir Buddha, Adi Shankaracharya, Guru Nanak, etc. are celebrated every year.Sri Sri. Kali Puja and Sri Sri Saraswati Puja (in image) are celebrated every year. A large number of devotees attend evening Aratrikam.m conducted. daily in the temple.
 
SPECIAL EVENTS
New Dispensary Building was inaugurated on the 28th Jan.1990 by Shrimat Swami Bhuteshanandaji Maharaj, President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission.

Foundation o f the New Library building (Swami Vivekananda Gujarat Paribhraman Shatabdi Bhavan), constructed at the site of the old library was lad by Shrimat Swami Bhuteshanandaji Maharaj on 7th Dec. 1991

STARTING OF A GUJARATI PERIODICAL
A Gujarati Monthly entitled 'SHRI RAMAKRISHNA JYOT' has been started from April, 1989 for the betterment of the spiritual and cultural life of our people and ultimately for the good of mankind. The first issue was dedicated at the feet of Shri Ramakrishna by Shrimat Swami Atmasthanandaji Maharaj on the 13th April, 1989. He also presided over the Public Meeting during which the first issue was released by Shri Harindra Dave, eminent writer and poet and editor of Gujarati daily 'Janmabhoomi'. The present circulation is 5000 copies. Patron Scheme has been started in order to make this project financially self supporting. Under this scheme any one donating a sum of Rs. 1000/- or more may become a patron and may get a complimentery copy of the Journal for 20 years. So far 575 patrons have been enrolled.
